Make A Plan To Vote

Early voting is underway across Illinois. With Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, now is the time to make your plan and ensure your voice is heard.

As Republicans across the country continue their attacks on voting rights, we remain inspired by fighters for democracy who stand up and push back. Visit IWillVote.com to check your registration, find your polling place, and get everything you need to vote.

Your Voter Registration Checklist

Each state sets its own guidelines for voter registration, offering options online, by mail, or in person. If you’ve moved since your last registration—even within the same state—make a plan to update your details. Online registration in Illinois closes October 18. After that, you can still register and vote in person through Election Day with two forms of ID. You can check options via the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Confirm Voter Registration

Double-check your registration status to ensure it is active. Because of attempts to purge voter rolls and disenfranchise voters by the Trump Administration, changes may have been made without your knowledge. Verify your status at IWillVote.com or the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Make Your Voting Plan

Decide whether you will vote early, on Election Day, or by mail depending on your state’s rules. Check requirements, locate your nearest polling place or drop box, and confirm submission deadlines.

What to Know About Mail-In Voting

Voting by mail is safe, secure, and reliable. Republicans are scared of voters holding them accountable for their failed record, so they want to take this option away. If it is an option in your state, request and submit your mail ballot as soon as possible to ensure it is counted.

Any registered Illinois voter can vote by mail, no excuse needed. Request your ballot by October 29 and return it as soon as possible. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, November 3rd.
