CHICAGO, IL — Governor JB Pritzker has made Illinois a safe haven for abortion rights by championing policies that expand access to reproductive healthcare across the state.
In 2019, before Roe v. Wade was overturned, Gov. Pritzker signed the Reproductive Health Act, which enshrined comprehensive reproductive healthcare access in Illinois law. He also made Illinois a shield state to protect the privacy of patients and doctors, required Illinois public colleges to offer contraception, and reduced systemic inequities in maternal healthcare.
In the face of Donald Trump and his MAGA sycophants’ attacks on women’s rights and their reproductive freedoms, Gov. Pritzker joined the Reproductive Freedom Alliance, a coalition of governors protecting abortion access. He also founded Think Big America to support ballot measures that secure reproductive rights across the country.
