Governor JB Pritzker Receives UAW Endorsement

CHICAGO, IL — Today, Governor JB Pritzker was endorsed by United Auto Workers (UAW). As one of the largest labor unions in North America, UAW works every day to improve workers’ rights, wages, and labor standards, advocating for the many active and retired UAW members across Illinois.

This endorsement reflects Gov. Pritzker’s commitment to empowering Illinois workers and bringing good-paying union jobs to the state.

“Here in Illinois, we know that a state can’t get ahead by leaving its workers behind,” said Gov. JB Pritzker. “While Trump and his cronies try to rollback workplace protections, I am fighting every day to improve the lives of working people and protect workers’ rights. I was proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with UAW members and work in partnership to attract an $800 million investment from Stellantis to bring back the Belvidere Assembly Plant and restore good-paying union jobs in Illinois. I am honored to be endorsed by UAW and the innovative, highly skilled members the union represents.”

“Governor Pritzker understands that when we fight for good union jobs, we’re fighting for working people in every community,” said UAW Region 4 Director Brandon Campbell. “Belvidere showed what’s possible when workers, our communities and leaders stand together. Governor Pritzker has been there with us in that fight, and he’s continued to stand up for working people.”

Gov. Pritzker has championed policies that uplift working people and safeguard workers’ rights and workplace protections across the state.
