CHICAGO, IL — Over the last eight years, Gov. Pritzker has prioritized delivering higher wages and lower costs for working families across Illinois.
In 2019, Gov. Pritzker signed legislation to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour, delivering a raise to 1.4 million workers. Gov. Pritzker eliminated the state grocery tax, banned hidden junk fees, and created and doubled the child tax credit. He also generated more than $1.8 billion in tax relief for working families and secured billions in rebates for utility bills through the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act.
Gov. Pritzker is expanding access to affordable healthcare by erasing over $1.4 billion in medical debt for nearly 700,000 Illinoisans, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and capping the cost of insulin and inhalers.
In just 10 days, Illinoisans will choose between Darren Bailey, an extremist who has openly praised Trump’s catastrophic economic agenda, and Gov. Pritzker, a leader who stood up and took action against Trump’s attacks on working families and their livelihoods. In his third term, Gov. Pritzker will continue to deliver for working families across the state.
