CHICAGO, IL — In a WLS-AM interview released yesterday, Darren Bailey confirmed that he still thinks Illinoisans should pay for Donald Trump’s war in Iran.
The interview host acknowledged that Donald Trump had failed to deliver on his promise to lower gas prices to below $2 a gallon. He then shared that he believed he would pay higher prices to win the war with Iran. Darren Bailey nodded along and agreed, “Right!”
Moody’s Analytics estimates that the war in Iran has cost the average American household nearly $2,000, including $1,100 in higher energy costs alone. Increased oil and gas prices are driving a rise in shipping and warehousing costs, which will likely hit working families at the grocery store if the pattern persists.
Governor JB Pritzker issued a state disaster proclamation and provided relief to farmers struggling with the high cost of diesel by allowing them to use cheaper dyed diesel for on-road purposes. He also called out oil executives for war profiteering and demanded they return their wartime windfall to the people of Illinois.
