CHICAGO, IL — Yesterday, WGN reported on allegations that Darren Bailey failed to report a supporter’s donation of a luxury Chicago apartment he claims to have been living in and working out of for the past seven months.
Tonight, Bailey will face Chicagoans at a campaign town hall – and he owes them some answers.
Here are five questions Bailey owes Chicagoans answers to at tonight’s town hall:
- Who donated Darren Bailey’s Chicago pied-à-terre and campaign headquarters?
- If the campaign isn’t denying the donation, why won’t they disclose who is funding his stay in Chicago?
- What other campaign donations has the Bailey campaign received and failed to report?
- Given this is not Darren Bailey’s first violation, why does he think his campaign is above Illinois campaign finance law and above being transparent with voters?
- What other Illinois laws does Darren Bailey consider optional?
