Rock Island, IL – Today, JB Pritzker was endorsed by State Representative Mike Halpin and Rock Island County elected officials. At the event, JB highlighted his plans to put Springfield back on the side of working families by creating jobs, investing in education, and rebuilding Illinois’ crumbling infrastructure.

The Rock Island officials who endorsed JB today include:

  • Sheriff Gerry Bustos
  • County Clerk Karen Kinney
  • State’s Attorney John McGehee
  • County Board Chairman Ken Maranda
  • County Board Members Jeff Deppe, Mia Mayberry, Ed Langdon, Larry Burns, and Scott Noyd
  • County Auditor April Palmer
  • Rock Island City Council Members Ivory Clark, James Spurgetis, and Virgil Mayberry
  • 17th District Democratic State Central Committeewoman Kate Jennings

“I’m so proud to have the endorsements of State Representative Mike Halpin and the Rock Island County elected officials standing with our campaign today,” said JB Pritzker. “Communities like Rock Island County have suffered from disinvestment as Bruce Rauner created crisis after crisis in our state. With the support of these community leaders, I’m confident that we can rebuild Illinois’ infrastructure, create jobs in every community across the state, and invest in our public education system to give every child the opportunity to succeed.”

“I’ve spent the last few months considering which candidate I would support for governor,” said State Representative Mike Halpin. “As I went door-to-door to hear directly from the people I serve in the State Legislature, the thing that I heard the most is that people want a governor that they can count on to be on the side of working men and women. I’m proud to stand with JB Pritzker and my colleague Juliana Stratton in the fight to put Springfield back on the side of working families. I know that they can bring Democrats together to beat Bruce Rauner in November.”

“I’m proud to endorse JB Pritzker and Juliana Stratton,” said Rock Island County Board Chairman Ken “Moose” Maranda. “JB is a proven leader who won’t shy away from tough decisions. Illinois needs a governor who will take charge and put Springfield back on the side of working families. JB Pritzker will be that governor.”
