Gun violence is a public health epidemic, taking far too many lives and impacting too many communities. JB has real plans to fight gun violence by preventing gun trafficking, keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals, and outlawing accessories like bump stocks. JB will also address the underlying causes of gun violence by working to expand economic opportunity to communities that have suffered from systemic disinvestment and increase funding for social services so people don’t turn to violence.

REALITY CHECK:

• JB supports the Gun Dealer Licensing Bill and red flag laws to keep guns out of the hands of people who wish to do harm.
• JB will work to ban bump stocks and assault weapons, to stop people from doing too much harm, much too quickly.
• To address the root causes of gun violence, JB will expand economic opportunity to communities that have suffered decades of systemic disinvestment and increase funding for human services.
