REALITY CHECK: Chris Kennedy’s Campaign Fails to Live Up to Own Sexual Harassment Policy

Friday, March 2, 2018

Instead of focusing on how to prevent sexual harassment, Chris Kennedy has been playing politics with the issue. On Monday, his campaign released a plan it claimed would help combat the problem of sexual harassment in political campaigns, which would require employees to receive sexual harassment training from a third party. Two days later, the Kennedy campaign admitted it had failed to hold such a training for its own staff. With just weeks left in the primary, it is unclear when Kennedy plans on meeting his own requirement and holding a sexual harassment training.

REALITY CHECK:

  • On Monday, Chris Kennedy’s campaign released a sexual harassment prevention plan that required “all employees [to] receive sexual harassment training by a third party provider.”
  • Two days later, Kennedy’s campaign then admitted that it had not held any sexual harassment training for its own staff.
