Friday, March 23, 2018

Chicago, IL – Today, JB for Governor released a new story in the multimedia “Rauner Failed Me” campaign highlighting the real people who have been hurt by Bruce Rauner’s failures as governor.

Jack, a laborer from Goreville, is the latest Illinoisan to be featured in the campaign. Jack and his family are proud construction laborers who have been failed by Bruce Rauner’s attacks on working families and workers’ rights. Jack’s story, and the stories of others who have been impacted by Bruce Rauner’s gross mismanagement, can be found at the campaign’s website, RaunerFailedMe.com.

“Bruce Rauner has led an all-out assault on workers and workers’ rights, attempting to slash the wages and benefits that workers like Jack rely on while letting our infrastructure crumble,” said Pritzker communications director Galia Slayen. “From his 736-day budget crisis to his Right to Work agenda, Rauner has consistently undermined the tools working families need to thrive.”

“My dad, my mom, my uncle, my brother— they’re all construction laborers,” said Jack Skelcher. “For us, Right to Work sounds like Right to Work for less money. If Bruce Rauner gets his way, that means we’re not going to be paid the same wages and we’re not going to receive the same benefits. I want to see legislation to make unions stronger. We should secure prevailing wage and put money in infrastructure, roads, and bridges because they’re falling apart. I’m supporting JB because I know he’ll do that.”
