Rauner Failed Me: Corina Ousley’s Story

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Chicago, IL – Today, JB for Governor released a new story in the multimedia “Rauner Failed Me” campaign highlighting the real people who have been hurt by Bruce Rauner’s failures as governor.

Corina is an educator who is passionate about teaching, but has been failed by Rauner’s budget crisis that denied many of her students the opportunity to thrive in her science classes. Corina’s story, and the stories of others who have been impacted by Bruce Rauner’s gross mismanagement can be found at the campaign’s website: RaunerFailedMe.com.

“Bruce Rauner’s crisis driven agenda has denied Corina and her students the tools they need to thrive,” said Pritzker campaign communications director Galia Slayen. “While Corina and educators like her across Illinois advocate for their students, our failed governor continues to strip them of the stability they need in the classroom to be ready for the future.”

“I’ve always prided myself as an advocate for the underdog, and right now that’s the public education system,” said Corina Ousley. “Bruce Rauner’s failure to pass a budget has greatly impacted my ability to give my kids the tools they need to thrive. In Illinois, we aren’t adequately equipping our students for successful careers in technology and I’m really worried about their futures. I want somebody like JB, with a passion for our kids, a passion for education, and an understanding that young people do matter. They’re our future and we need a leader like JB who is ready to invest in their success.”
