Rauner Dismisses Questions, Claims

Chicago, IL – As Bruce Rauner stumbles into his reelection campaign, the failed governor is under fire after a new audit exposed widespread fiscal mismanagement in his own office.

The audit of the governor’s office revealed the administration had been overstating assets by $7 million while also having other agencies pay staff salaries to disguise the true cost of the governor’s office. Rauner reacted to news of the systemic mismanagement with a dismissive, “everyone in the government is human” as he proceeded to praise the team responsible.

“Bruce Rauner decimated the state economy, manufactured a 736-day budget crisis, and now it’s revealed Rauner can’t even manage the finances of his own office,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “The staggering extent of this failed governor’s mismanagement is only exceeded by his proclivity for lying about it to anyone who is still listening.”
