Same Old, Same Old – Darren Bailey Says His Extreme Values Haven’t Changed

Bailey’s still the same extreme MAGA candidate as last time, unfit to serve IL

CHICAGO, IL – After trying to reintroduce himself to voters as “a different person,” Darren Bailey admitted this week that his values haven’t changed since his failed 2022 gubernatorial campaign.

“Serving as a state rep and a senator, and being brought up in southeast Illinois, you know, we have a certain set of values that we adhere to,” said Darren Bailey on The Annie Frey Show, a conservative talk radio program. “Those values don’t change within me.”

Those “values” are exactly why Illinois voters rejected Bailey in 2022. Darren Bailey has said that he opposes abortion rights, including in cases of rape or incest. He even had the audacity to compare women exercising their reproductive rights to the Holocaust.

As a legislator, Bailey opposed Gov. Pritzker’s fight to increase Illinois’ minimum wage to $15 per hour. Fortunately, his efforts failed, and 1.4 million Illinoisans got a raise.

Darren Bailey boasted about his Trump endorsement in 2022 and has continued to embrace even the most damaging tenets of Trump’s agenda, from illegal tariff taxes to unlawful National Guard deployments. This is the real Darren Bailey.

JB for Governor Communications Director Alex Gough released this statement:

“Darren Bailey said it himself: he is the same person Illinois voters rejected in 2022. That person is a MAGA sycophant whose extreme values are wildly out of step with the people of Illinois.”

He is an unwavering Trump loyalist who stood by as the President tanked our economy, further threatening working families in Illinois. Bailey’s extreme, dangerous values have no place anywhere near the Governor’s Mansion.
