SPRINGFIELD, IL — Yesterday, Governor JB Pritzker and lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Christian Mitchell marched the Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade to kick off the Illinois State Fair and celebrate Route 66’s 100th anniversary.

“There is no better way to honor Illinois’ history than by celebrating Route 66 during this year’s Twilight parade,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “It is always a joy to participate in this parade, and I am proud to welcome visitors from across our nation to our state.”
“Naming Route 66 as the honorary grand marshal of this year’s Twilight Parade is a testament to its significance in Illinois and across the nation,” said lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Christian Mitchell. “I’m proud to be part of a great Illinois tradition alongside JB Pritzker and celebrate our state’s culture and people.”
