CHICAGO, IL — Today, JB for Governor released a new ad titled “Necessity,” highlighting how Governor JB Pritzker created and doubled the Illinois child tax credit and drove investments that put money back into the pockets of working families.
The 30-second ad features Illinois mom Mykela Collins sharing that Gov. Pritzker’s child tax credit has helped families like hers afford what they need for their kids.
In 2024, Governor JB Pritzker signed a budget creating the first-ever child tax credit in the state of Illinois. In 2025, he doubled it. Thanks to Gov. Pritzker, working families in Illinois are eligible for up to $600 in annual tax relief to help pay for groceries, clothes, school supplies, childcare, or other essentials needed to support their families. So far, it’s helped 800,000 Illinois working families receive nearly $200 million in tax cuts between 2024 and 2025.
While the federal government raises costs and leaves working families behind, Gov. Pritzker is committed to making the state an affordable place to live and raise a family.
The ad will air on broadcast and digital platforms in the Chicago area.
