CHICAGO, IL — Election Day is 63 days away, and Darren Bailey is still running interference for Donald Trump. Through silence, appeasement, and bizarre justifications for cruel and chaotic policy, Bailey has shown Illinoisans exactly where his loyalty lies.
Here are just a few examples:
- Donald Trump started a war with Iran that sent gas prices skyrocketing, sacked farmers with higher input costs, and put our servicemembers in harm’s way. Darren Bailey was silent.
- Donald Trump started multiple trade wars that, in Illinois alone, increased household costs by $2,200 and lost 7,500 manufacturing jobs. Darren Bailey called it “short-term pain for long-term gain.”
- Donald Trump sent masked agents to terrorize Chicago’s neighborhoods. Darren Bailey defended it.
- Donald Trump demanded Americans foot the bill for half of his $600 million ballroom. Darren Bailey has not denounced it.
In response, JB for Governor campaign spokesperson Leah Hurwitz released the following statement:
“Illinois needs a fighter who champions working families and has a record of delivering for the state, not a puppet whose loyalty lies with Donald Trump only. While Trump sells out working families and enriches himself and his allies, Darren Bailey has supported him every step of the way.
