Five Questions for Darren Bailey as He Doubles Down on Bringing DOGE to Illinois

CHICAGO, IL – Darren Bailey can’t stop talking about bringing Donald Trump’s DOGE to Illinois. He’s built his entire campaign around copying Trump’s playbook, even making DOGE a centerpiece of his so-called “Blueprint for Illinois.” But Bailey doesn’t want to accept that DOGE is deeply unpopular in Illinois, especially with suburban voters. While Governor JB Pritzker has fought to protect Illinois families from the fallout of Trump’s agenda, Bailey is campaigning to bring that same chaos home.

Here are five questions about Darren Bailey’s plan to bring DOGE to Illinois:

  • Specifically, which programs, services, and agencies would Darren Bailey put on the chopping block when he “DOGEs” Illinois?
  • If Darren Bailey took a DOGE-style chainsaw to the state government, which Illinois workers does Bailey plan to fire first?
  • Why does Darren Bailey think DOGE-ing Illinois will succeed here when the same approach was deeply unpopular with the American people nationally?
  • Federal judges repeatedly blocked DOGE’s cuts as unconstitutional and unlawful – what is Darren Bailey’s plan for the legal onslaught that would follow and how much can Illinoisans expect to pay for years of courtroom battles?
  • How far is Darren Bailey willing to go to copy Donald Trump’s playbook and what is his backup plan when it fails here too?

Until he answers, Illinois voters are left without a clear understanding of what Bailey’s plan would mean for their jobs, their communities, and their tax dollars.
