CHICAGO, IL – Darren Bailey wants Illinois parents to trust him with their children’s futures, but the values taught at the school he founded make clear that he is unfit to serve as governor. Full Armor Christian Academy, which Bailey and his wife founded to offer families a “Christ-centered education,” has faced criticism for its use of a curriculum that teaches shocking racist, anti-science, anti-woman, and anti-LGBTQ+ views.
These are the lessons Darren Bailey thinks are fit for Illinois children:
- “The majority of slaveholders treated their slaves well.”
- “Gay people have no more claims to special rights than child molesters and rapists.”
- Women in the workforce had been harmful to America
- Dinosaurs and men must have lived at the same time
Darren Bailey runs a school with a dishonest curriculum centered in hate. Does he believe that qualifies him to serve as governor for all Illinoisans? A candidate who endorses the lessons taught in these textbooks has no right to claim he knows what’s best for our children and their education.
