“In the dead of night, the U.S. Senate passed a bill that is nothing short of an assault on our middle class masquerading as a tax bill,” said JB Pritzker. “Trump’s devastating legislation hikes taxes on middle class families, strips healthcare from millions, and adds a trillion dollars to the federal deficit. Instead of leadership from this failed governor, Bruce Rauner waffled between complicit silence and a full-throated endorsement as Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans rammed through legislation that will have a profoundly negative impact on working families across Illinois.”
