Chicago, IL – JB Pritzker released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court allowed Donald Trump’s travel ban to go into effect:

“It is disgraceful that the U.S. Supreme Court is allowing Donald Trump to impose a poorly disguised religious test for entrance into our country,” said JB Pritzker. “It’s clear that this bigoted president’s goal is to implement a Muslim ban, which is not just mean-spirited, but it goes against the foundation upon which our country was built. Illinoisans should know they live in a welcoming state and country, but Bruce Rauner remains silent as Trump advances his hateful agenda in Washington. As governor, I will always stand up for our immigrant families and resist Donald Trump’s racist and bigoted agenda at every turn.”
