JB Pritzker Statement on Rauner’s “Good Friday Massacre”

Friday, March 30, 2018

Chicago, IL – JB Pritzker released the following statement three years after Bruce Rauner’s “Good Friday Massacre:”

“Three years ago, Bruce Rauner revealed his true character and moral compass by decimating our state’s social services on Good Friday,” said JB Pritzker. “In his first months in office, Rauner targeted our most vulnerable residents and slashed $26 million in funding for tools that help Illinoisans build better lives. From gutting immigration, autism, and epilepsy services to eliminating addiction prevention and after-school programs, this disgrace of a governor failed so many communities on that dark day in 2015. Illinoisans deserve better, and when I’m governor, I will work with communities to rebuild the programs that Bruce Rauner viciously cut so every Illinoisan can reach their full potential.”
