JB Pritzker Joins National School Walkout, Issues Statement One Month After Parkland Massacre

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Norridge, IL – Today, JB Pritzker joined students at Ridgewood High School in the national school walkout to honor the victims of the Parkland massacre and demand immediate action to stop gun violence.

“Senseless gun violence is ripping apart too many families across our state and country, and we must have the courage to take immediate action,” said JB Pritzker. “The teenagers in Parkland who saw their classmates gunned down in their high school bravely stood up and demanded action from leaders across the country, but Bruce Rauner let them down. He decided to play politics and veto a common sense bill that could help reduce gun violence. Illinois deserves a leader who will take charge and provide real solutions to address this public health epidemic. I was proud to stand with our students today and I look forward to standing with them in this fight as governor.”
