Chicago, IL – Following continued inaction in Congress nearly three months after Donald Trump threatened to end DACA, JB Pritzker released the following statement:

“Congress must act now to pass the DREAM Act and protect our young immigrants,” said JB Pritzker. “We’re talking about children and families, neighbors and friends, whose lives could be torn apart by Donald Trump’s bigoted agenda. There is no question these brave DREAMers deserve every opportunity to succeed and contribute to our state and nation’s prosperity. Bruce Rauner has failed to speak out about the urgency of passing the DREAM Act, but fortunately Senator Durbin is leading the fight in Washington and I thank each and every organization, activist, and everyday Illinoisan demanding Congress do what’s right. When I’m governor, immigrant families in Illinois and those who stand with them will have a partner in Springfield.”
