New Ad Highlights Rauner’s Failure to Pass a Budget and JB’s Commitment to Fighting for What’s Right

Chicago, IL – Today, the JB Pritzker for Governor campaign released a new TV ad, “What’s Happening in Springfield.”  The ad will air in markets across the state.

Yesterday, on the last day of regular session and on day 700 without a budget, Bruce Rauner once again came up empty, all but ensuring Illinois will go without a budget for another year. The new ad highlights the incredible damage Bruce Rauner’s crisis has unleashed on the state of Illinois and its most vulnerable communities. It makes clear that it is time for new leadership in Springfield and that JB Pritzker is the right candidate to bring people together and fight for what’s right.

“This isn’t just about politics and numbers, Bruce Rauner’s budget crisis has driven our state into the ground, decimating our economy and devastating our most vulnerable communities,” said JB Pritzker. “We’re over 700 days into this budget crisis and Bruce Rauner is well into his third year as governor. Illinoisans are tired of hearing Rauner’s excuses, as he shamelessly tries to pass blame at every turn. The buck stops with the governor and the governor has failed. Our state is ready for new leadership in Springfield, predicated on a commitment to the values that make Illinois strong. We lift up our most vulnerable communities, we stand firm against Donald Trump, and we think big and get results. I look forward to standing with Illinois families and communities to get our state back on track.”
