Chicago, IL – Today, JB Pritzker released the following statement in response to the Senate’s action on HB40.

“I applaud the Illinois Senate for standing up for women’s rights and passing HB40. I have been fighting to protect women’s healthcare and reproductive rights my whole life and will do the same as Illinois’ next governor,” said JB Pritzker. “It’s unfortunate that Bruce Rauner continues to fail our state and our families. In 2014, he lied to voters when he claimed that he cared about a woman’s right to choose and should take some time to reflect on his broken promise. Too many rights are already under attack by the Trump administration, and it’s time for Rauner to be a leader and stand up for the principles he claims to believe in.”
