Members Demand Rauner Take Responsibility for Gross Mismanagement

Chicago, IL – Today, the Chicago City Council’s Veterans Caucus endorsed JB Pritzker at a press conference in front of the partially-constructed Veterans’ Home in Chicago that has been delayed by Bruce Rauner’s constant crises. At the press conference, JB and members of the caucus held Bruce Rauner accountable for his fatal mismanagement of the Quincy Veterans’ Home and discussed JB’s plans to fight for Illinois Veterans.

“The obligation we have to our Veterans and their families is sacred, and to have that obligation so thoroughly neglected by Bruce Rauner is an unconscionable moral failing,” said JB Pritzker. “This is what happens when a governor refuses to take charge. Veterans young and old across this state deserve the opportunity to succeed and I’m proud to be running on a real plan to support our Veterans so we can build stronger families and communities. With these leaders standing with me today, I know we can create real opportunity for every Illinois Veteran to thrive.”

“JB Pritzker will be the governor for Veterans,” said Veterans Caucus Chair Gilbert Villegas. “He understands the challenges that Veterans face and is ready to step up and help our community. He will lead the change when it comes to making Illinois the best state for Veterans.”
