BREAKING: Rauner Supports Trump’s Cruel Medicaid Work Requirements in Illinois

Friday, January 12, 2018

Chicago, IL – Bruce Rauner just announced his support for imposing work requirements for Illinois Medicaid recipients, just a day after Donald Trump issued new guidance encouraging the radical policy change. In response, JB Pritzker released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s backwards, deeply discriminatory policy is an attack on working families and has no place in Illinois, but of course Bruce Rauner is supporting it,” said JB Pritzker. “This failed governor cowered to Trump once again, and is working to impose additional, unnecessary barriers to vital healthcare services for those who need access the most. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege and we should be working to expand healthcare across Illinois so that all families can access affordable care. That’s exactly what I will do as governor.”
