CHICAGO, IL — Governor JB Pritzker and Christian Mitchell continued their statewide bus tour today, making stops in West Frankfort and Metro East.
During their first stop in West Frankfort, they attended a barbeque hosted by the IBEW Local 702 to connect with Southern Illinois Democrats and local union leaders, including IBEW Local 702 President James Sanchez and Business Manager Steve Hughart.
Later in the day, Mitchell stopped by the Southern Illinois Democratic Women Social in Du Quoin, hosted at St. Nicholas Brewing Company. He joined Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, State Representative Margaret Croke, co-president of Illinois Democratic Women Lee Franklin, and women from across Southern Illinois.
Then, Gov. Pritzker and Mitchell held a rally in Belleville, where they fired up voters in the run-up to election day. They were joined by Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski, State Representative Margaret Croke, Olympic gold medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and local elected officials.
“Christian Mitchell and I have a bold vision to confront a world where change is accelerating,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “We need elected officials who can stand up to the enriched and entrenched — to the wealthy and well-connected.”
“For too long, the MAGA crowd and their allies have played different parts of this state against each other as part of a zero-sum game,” said lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Christian Mitchell. “They want us pointing fingers at each other, so we don’t notice that it’s their tariffs, healthcare cuts, and chaos that are making your life worse. JB Pritzker has embraced a bigger vision — one that recognizes our common humanity and our common challenges whether we live in Belleville or Broadview.”
