CAUGHT: Darren Bailey is Running Two Different Campaigns

Darren Bailey Contradicts His Chicago Rebrand By Telling Voters That He Has “Not Changed” Since His First Campaign

Chicago, IL – Last week, Darren Bailey attempted to appeal to Chicago voters using a Chicago City Council meeting to campaign and “apologize” for calling the city a “hellhole.” That same day, when asked in a friendlier space if any of his beliefs from the first campaign had changed, he replied “Yeah, I’ve not changed.” His new rebrand didn’t even last a day.

Darren Bailey believes he can get to November running two different campaigns for two different audiences. Illinoisans deserve better than a two-faced candidate trying to pivot from his extreme agenda.

Since Bailey has “not changed” since his first campaign, Illinoisans deserve to know what he actually supports.

  • In an interview, Bailey said he opposed abortion, even in cases of rape or incest.
  • After the overturn of Roe v. Wade, Bailey said “I love the fact that the US Supreme Court did what they did.”
  • Bailey doubled down on his comments from 2017 comparing abortion to the atrocities of the Holocaust.
  • Bailey wholeheartedly accepted Trump’s endorsement, saying, “I’ve made a promise to President Trump that in 2024, Illinois will roll the red carpet out for him.”
  • Bailey’s campaign had ties to an insurrectionist who was charged for storming the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.
  • Bailey voted against Illinois’ $15 minimum wage increase, legislation that delivered a raise to an estimated 1.4 million workers across the state.

While Bailey is focused on figuring out how many times he can rebrand in a single week, Governor JB Pritzker continues to deliver for working families across the state.
