JB for Governor Releases New Video Called “He’s Back” – Watch Here
CHICAGO, IL – Yesterday, the Illinois Republican Party selected Darren Bailey as its candidate for governor, reviving a ticket that Illinois voters already rejected in 2022. Bailey has been explicit that he intends to change his tone to attract new voters, but a closer look at his record makes clear that his positions haven’t moved an inch.
Illinois voters didn’t buy it four years ago, and they won’t buy it now. Darren Bailey can try to change his message but his ideas haven’t changed – he’s too extreme for Illinois.
DARREN BAILEY OPPOSES ABORTION WITH NO EXCEPTION
- Bailey and his running mate Aaron Del Mar both received top ratings from Illinois Right to Life Action, indicating they oppose abortion in all circumstances – including cases of rape or incest.
- Bailey previously claimed that the Holocaust “doesn’t even compare” to abortion, suggesting that allowing women to make their own health care decisions compares to the systemic mass extermination of Jews during the Holocaust.
DARREN BAILEY IS AN UNWAVERING TRUMP LOYALIST
- Bailey received Trump’s endorsement in 2022 and has continued to champion Trump’s second-term agenda – backing his deployment of National Guard troops in Chicago, defending his tariffs, and echoing his rhetoric on political opponents.
- Bailey has called for Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson to be “thrown in jail” for opposing Trump’s use of the National Guard in Chicago.
- Bailey has said he wants to replicate the Trump administration’s DOGE initiative at the state level.
DARREN BAILEY SUPPORTS ECONOMIC POLICIES THAT HURT ILLINOIS FAMILIES
- Bailey enthusiastically supported Trump’s tariffs, which have cost the average family an estimated $1,700.
- Bailey voted against Illinois’ $15 minimum wage increase, legislation that delivered a raise to an estimated 1.4 million workers and nearly doubled the state’s tipped minimum wage. Time and again, Bailey has sided against the interests of working Illinoisans.
